What You Don’t Post Still Counts

June 03, 20264 min read

“Not because it is not on social media, it does not mean it did not happen.”

I heard that line in a conversation between Ryan Holiday and Cal Newport, 2 of the people I look up to and have great influence in my personal development and growth journey... and it made me think.

As someone whose bread and butter lives in social and digital marketing, I have been unusually quiet lately. And I now I kinda feel obligated to share about what's been happening to me. So that's why I'm writing this, lol.

And as I think and looked back to whats happened recently, it also made me think about how much of life, growth, and even business happens before anyone knows the work is even in motion. Before anyone ever sees proof. And I have had a lot of that kind of work going on.

I launched Teksto last May 1st. And yes, there was tech chaos, payment issues, design debates, and all the other fun things that come with building. But we got through it, and we are live. And that alone feels like a win.

A little short promotion here, haha! If you are building the life you want, Teksto lets you Wear Your Voice. Designed for builders and dreamers so you can step into your state of power. You can shop at www.teksto.shop

And then, May 15, the start of my walking era. My 7am morning routine now includes walking into our neighborhood as part of me trying to be health conscious. My first day was only 1,000 steps. For someone with an orthopedic disability, that was not nothing. My legs were in pain, and I genuinely had to ask myself if I should keep going.

Then I saw David Goggins book on my shelf and literally slapped my face. Because I was playing it small again. I reminded myself how Goggins ran an ultramarathon with broken bones. So yes, I kept going. My walking era is officially real. As of now, I am reaching 2600 steps daily and I take it as a win.

I also started coaching VAs again and our live training event last May 23rd reminded me how fulfilling it is to help people step into freelancing with confidence. It feels so good to be part of someone else’s starting line. We are now open for Batch 3 enrollees this June, so if you are an aspiring Virtual Assistant, and want some real and personal guidance from someone whos been in the VA industry since 2013, here's the link to join my coaching program.

Next Level Marketing Hub is still here as well, but we are focused on the clients we already have. The ones who trust our work enough to refer us. That has always been my favorite kind of marketing. Good work, real results, brings in the next client. Word of mouth is still the best marketing.

I also finally brought everything together in one place! www.itsmariaramirez.blog is where my readings, marketing thoughts, beyond the grind realization, my cancer journey, community and advocacies, all of it, are in one site. If you want to see the whole me, know the real me, this is that space.

And then theres the book.

Because Teksto is finally running, I stopped using that as my excuse and started writing my book. TBH, I do not even know exactly what it's really gonna be about.. I guess we will all be surprised what kind of book it will be. I'm not a professional book writer yet, so I honestly really don't know what I'm doing. I am not rushing it, and I am not pressuring myself. I am just writing. Random thoughts, random ideas, random experiences. I'm far from my dream of being a published writer but I feel that starting is enough for now.

So yes, the social scene has missed a lot of my life lately.

My bad. I still love you my virtual friends!

And for the people who knew me for my marketing services, I am still your Marketing Maria. Just not only in the places people expect. My journey is no longer just about marketing. This Maria is building with more intention and creating more impact.

Building in quieter ways. Putting my attention to what really matters first.

And that's doing the actual work rather than posting daily reels.

Because not everything needs to get posted.

Sometimes the work that changes you most is the work nobody sees.

And the things we do silently are actually the one that creates more impact.

A little side note.. I’ve been living a little more on Threads these days, and I’m kind of loving it there! It’s where I drop quick daily thoughts, realizations, and little life updates. If you’re on Threads too, come say hi, connect with me there and lets be Thriends.

Until my next post, Maria.
